Hi. This is Judy. Though I do lots of writing and blogging, this is my first personal blog. The name–Kindling–is exactly what I hope happens here–together we share thoughts and ideas and start fires in hearts and minds–our own and many others.
I am married to a wonderful man, have three delightful children, all of whom made great choices in their marriages and who have given me four superb grandchildren. My friends so fill my cup that I am drinking from the saucer.
I am a writer, editor, speaker, missionary. Most of all I am an encourager–urging everyone I encounter to know God and to entrust their lives to him for all He wants them to be and all He has prepared for them to do. I get to go all over the world to do this loving and encouraging–what an incredible “job.”
I am amazingly blessed, totally inadequate, woefully unworthy and eternally grateful for the grace and mercy of God.

Judy, I found your blog based on Carolyn Custis James’ recommendation on Facebook. We are “kindred spirit grandmothers!” All of their lives, I’ve been tellling my two children (now ages 30 and 28) that I would one day drive a red convertible. Now as a grandmother of two, I still don’t have one but I do live the lifestyle you described.
I’m going to stay posted to what you have to say… thanks for thinking out loud and providing kindling for my own thinking!

You are indeed a revolutionary! I don’t recall saying to the contrary but I deeply apologize if I offended in any way. 2011 is a year the Holy Spirit is challenging me to be very careful what comes out of my mouth as well as what goes into it.
